TUESDAY MUSEUM UPDATE – September 5, 2023

In this week’s update: our new intern, correct navigation, new gift shop items, and more!

In our weekly update, keep up to date on what staff and volunteers at the Lindsborg Old Mill & Swedish Heritage Museum are working on to lift up the history of Lindsborg and the surrounding region. This weekly update both looks back at what happened last week and looks ahead at what’s coming.

For August 28 – September 4, 2023:

  • Staff held meetings related to a very exciting project related to a historical photo archive project. Stay tuned here for more news to come!
  • Tyler – our intern from Bethany College – started last week. Welcome, Tyler!
  • The volunteer Museum Handy Crew has removed the walkway between the museum and the Old Mill. This week, the Crew plans to start rebuilding the walkway with much more durable composite material.
  • The issue with Google Maps incorrectly directing visitors over the closed Välkommen bridge now appears to have been corrected! (…Again!) Thanks to everyone who reported this important navigation and safety issue to Google to encourage them to update to the correct status of the bridge.
  • Four new items are now available in the online gift shop! Toy tops, scale house coffee scoops, scale house door stops, and a Linzer cookie cutter set!

  • A Volunteer Workday is coming up on September 30. Please come help out if you are able!
  • Several new and exciting ways to experience the museum are in development and will be available soon! Like with the photo project, stay tuned here for more details on the way.

Thanks to Our Weekly Volunteers!
