In this week’s update: Postcard Jar, New Gift Shop items and restocks, and more!
In our weekly update, keep up to date on what staff and volunteers at the Lindsborg Old Mill & Swedish Heritage Museum are working on to lift up the history of Lindsborg and the surrounding region. This weekly update both looks back at what happened last week and looks ahead at what’s coming.
For August 14-20, 2023:
- We welcomed travel writers Ann and Steve Teget of Postcard Jar on their visit to Lindsborg and gave them a personal tour of the Old Mill and Swedish Pavilion!
- We’re pleased to welcome back the McPherson Gem & Mineral Club, which has been helping us with evaluating and organizing the large collection of rocks and fossils that have been in storage at the museum!
- Lenora assisted a researcher who was looking for information about her Swedish great-grandparents.
- We have new products available in the online gift shop: Harmonica (www.oldmillmuseum.org/product/harmonica), “Plantable” seed greeting cards ( www.oldmillmuseum.org/product/sunflower-positivity-seed-card; www.oldmillmuseum.org/product/sunflower-happy-birthday-seed-card ; www.oldmillmuseum.org/product/thanks-a-million-seed-card ; www.oldmillmuseum.org/product/thank-you-very-much-seed-card ; www.oldmillmuseum.org/product/ho-ho-ho-happy-christmas-seed-card ; www.oldmillmuseum.org/product/christmas-wish-seed-card) and new book “Grace, Faith, and the Power of Singing” (www.oldmillmuseum.org/product/grace-faith-and-the-power-of-singing).
- Old Mill Mint ice cream is restocked in the gift shop, as well as the very popular “Sweet Smilin’ Kansas” souvenir pin (www.oldmillmuseum.org/product/sweet-smilin-kansas-pin)!
- A Volunteer Workday is coming up on September 30. Please come help out if you are able!
