Lindsborg, Kan. - Plan now to celebrate the holidays with simple pleasures at the Old Mill Museum's annual "Old-Fashioned Christmas" event, Saturdays, December 6th and 13th, 2008, in Lindsborg. From 1pm to 4pm on the 6th and 5:00pm to 8:30pm on the 13th, the museum will be filled with the sights and sounds of an old-fashioned prairie Christmas.
The laughter of children and the sound of Santa’s bells ring out across the grounds. Concerts of beautiful seasonal music will also be heard both weeks. The music schedule is filled with both instrumental and vocal performances sure to bring out the holiday spirit in us all.
Families are invited to enjoy the music as well as a number of other activities sure to bring back the flavor of Christmas past. Children can enjoy old-fashioned crafts in the school house and take a moment to write that all-important letter to Santa! Santa himself may stroll the grounds, listening to wishes and handing out treats for kids of all ages. A shepherd, in traditional dress, tells the age-old Christmas story in the warmth of the stable.
Tour guides will be on hand for special tours and demonstrations in the flour mill. Between activities, everyone can enjoy delicious holiday refreshments and shop for those special gifts at the museum's gift shop.
Return to the rich traditions of the past and enjoy a time of family fun December 6th and 13th. Please note that December 6th hours are 1pm to 4 pm, while on December 13th the event will be held from 5:00pm to 8:30pm.
